CRAWLING!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that Maiyah is crawling and not just inch by inch anymore, but full fledge crawling. Her biggest encouragement for crawling is going after Nicholas's toys! She crawled about 4 feet last night and was grinning from ear to ear. She is also going from her belly to sitting up. Nicholas was so excited to have her crawling. I do have a video from my camera but I don't think I will find time post pictures before we leave for ND tomorrow night.

I will post a ton of pictures after the holidays I promise!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday!

6 months old and counting...

So I should really be posting Thanksgiving pictures but I am excited to share the 6 month old pictures Mike took of Maiyah, some pictures of Nick too and I will save the one we are sending out for Christmas until it comes to your mailboxes! The pictures didn't turn out too bad considering the rush we were in before Mike left for 3 weeks and trying to get something that came out remotely close to my friend Erin's beautiful pictures she took of the kids before she moved. (Erin, Mike is awaiting your expert opinion! )

Actually I think Mike did a wonderful job and I am very pleased. He doesn't know what he started but he will be doing this more often. I think the pictures are awesome...and lets just say the kids weren't very cooperative when we were doing this so I am impressed we got what we did. And as you will see by the pictures Maiyah just might be crawling by Christmas...watch out tree and presents.

Starting to get the Christmas ideas finalized and some of the shopping is already done, but more to do. Can't wait until Christmas is here.

Everyone have fun getting ready for Christmas, don't stress out too much and remember this is supposed to be a fun time with family and friends and a blessed time of year to enjoy doing for others.

Halloween and updates

Well I am a little late but here are some Halloween pictures. We had a big dragon and a little baby dragon this year. Maiyah loved being outside and watching all the kids trick or treating and Nicholas was all about going up to people's doors this year. Last year he was so shy but this year he walked right up and even gave them his dragon roarrrrr! The pictures aren't the best, but here they are anyway.

Here is our big girl, almost 6 months old and her awesome big brother. They are having more and more fun together everyday. Maiyah continues to light up when she sees Nicholas.

Maiyah is getting in her first tooth, it is a sharp one is on her bottom right. She thinks it is hilarious to bite her spoon when feeding her and not let go. She has also transitioned to the 6-12 month room and is loving it! I don't know what happened but since she started transitioning she think she can sit up and is starting to get up on all 4's. I told she really doesn't have to compete with the rest of the kids in her class. (she needs to slow down, she is getting too big already) :( She is talking away and her laugh is so precious. Her favorite hobby is grabbing on tight to anyone's hair she can get a hold of, including her brother's and the dogs' and cat's hair. Luckily Patches and York don't mind at all. I think they kind of like it. Jake just walks away, old boy.

Mike's traveling started again this morning for a week and then we will have him back for Thanksgiving before he leave again for 3 weeks. But we will have plenty to do with the holidays coming up fast.

The First Snow Fall!

Our first snowy day here in Colorado and Maiyah's first chance to play in the snow. Let's just say she had just woken up from a nap and didn't like the wind too much. Our trip outside didn't last much longer then 20 minutes. Daddy was out of town so I got to be baby holder and pull Nick on the sled. Nick wasn't too impressed, he wanted to make a snowman and throw snowballs. "Daddy we need your help, come home soon"

We stayed home all day in our PJ's (except for our outside attire). Had plenty of snuggle time, movies, and playing games. Wish you could have been home with us Daddy.

More pictures finally!

Sorry I haven't put anything on the blog in a month, thought I would be better at this.

We had a very busy September with my girls' trip to Florida, then a trip to Seattle the next week to see Mike's parents and celebrate Mike's birthday and our 5 year anniversary, and then my mom and step-dad visiting. We had Maiyah baptized with her cousin Sam and then I went to a conference in Breckenridge the first week of Oct.

Mike is traveling a lot over the next 3 months, but I am looking forward to a nice relaxing Christmas. So I will attach a bunch of pictures over the last month or so to catch you all up. Lastly my angels are getting so big, Nick continues to amaze me every day and Maiyah is already 5 months old and almost sitting up. Man does time fly. Enjoy the pictures.

Girl's weekend in FL!

Thanks to my wonderful husband I was able to get away for 3 1/2 fun days in Florida with "the book club girls". What a wonderful group of friends, now called "heart friends". 6 out of 9 of us made it, 2 pregos, 2 still breastfeeding, and 2 of us ready to have some real fun. But let's just say it was just like our old book club days back in CO, except for missing Jodi, Brandy, and Susie. A lot of eating, talking, laughing, and crying. Nothing like a group of friends that you can do all that with. PRICELESS!

Here are some pictures of the wonderful women I am lucky to have in my live, thanks ladies!

It was a cliff!

It seems that people don't think that Nick really climbed that cliff. Well it was about a 100ft. cliff and Nick made it up about half way until he looked back down and freaked out. Then our friend Greg climbed up to rescue him. Jeremy was on the end of the line to make sure everyone was all safe. Here are the pictures to prove it! Nick says he will go higher next time but had enough for that day.

Lets just say it didn't look bad from the bottom but it was scary from the top. And that was an easy climb....until next time....

Rock Climbing at Red Rock AND PICTURES!

Here are some pictures finally! We went Rock Climbing over Labor Day weekend at Red Rock. First time for Nick, myself, and Mike (should get a picture of Mike up here too). It was a great day, beautiful weather, and a day in the mountains; hiking, climbing and picnicking.

I just noticed I didn't rotate Maiyah's picture before I uploaded it. So I will post this for now and do some more picture later, that are rotated correctly. Not too bad for my first time.

Enjoy!

Sleeping Beauty!

Sleeping Beauty, Maiyah's new nickname at daycare!

My sleeping beauty slept for 11 1/2 hours last night; from 7:30pm until about 7am and then she had her bottle, changed and decided to fall asleep on the bed again. Guess she loves her sleep. I won't complain. Maybe her cereal helped her sleep good too. She had her 3rd try at cereal last night and didn't do too bad. We will keep practicing...

Anxiously awaiting visits with grandparents to show off how big my angels are getting. Hmmm pictures on the blog would do that too huh!

Rolling and Rolling, but now I am stuck!

Maiyah rolled over for the first time on Thursday the 23rd. Although this first roll over was not a happy roll over; she was crying and getting madder by the minute because mommy was trying to finish an email and then she got even madder when she got stuck on her belly. She has been rolling over to her belly since, even when she is happy! She will stay on her belly for a few minutes and prop herself up on her arms for awhile and look around, but then she becomes frustrated and wants to be put back on her back again.

Maiyah also had her first cereal feeding last night, the 26th. She didn't do too bad with it, maybe 10 spoonfuls if that...try again tonight. :) She teased us by sleeping through the night on Saturday night but woke up several times last night, stuck on her belly.

Wow that was a lot of changes in a couple of days, guess we will see what this week brings.

Crazy life

So I haven't gotten pictures up yet, but I promise I haven't forgotten. Life has been pretty crazy, 4 additional people in our house, moving to a new office at work for 6 months and then moving back, and just the usual hetic life of 2 kids.

The best news is my weekend away in September with the bookclub girls is almost here! I can't wait, 3 more weeks and counting.

Updates on the kids (without pictures). Maiyah has now started laughing out loud, yesterday was the first day that Mike and I noticed it and it is too cute. I could listen to her laugh all day long. It brings an instant smile to your face. She has been rolling on to her side for a couple of weeks but hasn't made it all the way over yet. Still waking up once a night, but eats and goes right back to sleep. Daddy has been getting up with her, it has been so nice to sleep through the night. (Although I usually have to nudge him awake to tell him that she is awake).

Nicholas is as busy as ever; talking, talking, and talking. Man he can talk! He continues to be a great big brother and very protective of his little sister. We were at the mall a couple of weeks ago and two kids were coming to the stroller to check Maiyah out. Nicholas got upset, "Mommy they are trying to get Maiyah". Maiyah better watch out, she is going to have Nicholas protecting her for many years. Nicholas has been enjoying our visitors and playing with their 8 year daughter; Misty. But today they are moving into their new house. I am sure Nicholas will be bored without Misty around and looking for some attention.

Life may be crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way :)

No pictures yet!

Well I didn't get a chance to get some photos on this thing yet but I promise I will be working on it.

Mike came home Saturday night from his 2 week long trip, a day late but I am very glad to have him back home. It is like he was never gone, first thing Nick asked daddy to do Sunday morning was make pancakes with him (a very common occurance in our house). So I woke up to pancakes and two happy kids with their dad Sunday morning. The one good thing about not breastfeeding anymore is that daddy can take the kids now and I can sleep in a little. Yay for daddy!

First blog ever!

Okay here goes nothing...but this is harder than I thought. I will get this blog going eventually with the help of many friends. So far now it will be pretty basic!
